Instructions

1. Click on the Start circle in the bottom left of your screen.
2. Click on "Control Panel"
3. In the screen that pops up, click on "Sound"
4. In the window that pops up, click on the "Recording" tab.
5. Look for your microphone in here. It should be enabled. Find the microphone you want, and click on it to highlight it.
6. Click on the button that says "Set as Default"
7. Click "OK". Now see if vent works.

After this, you might need to go into the Ventrilo "Setup" area and change your microphone input device.

Instructions for sending a remote help connection

1. Click on the Start circle in the bottom left of your screen.
2. Click on "Help and Support"
3. In the screen that pops up, you should see a link around the middle of the screen for "Windows Remote Assistance". Click this.
4. In the window that pops up, click on "Invite someone you trust to help you."
5. Click on the link they show, to "Open the remote tab in system properties"
6. In the screen that pops up check the top box to "allow remote connections. Then click "ok".
7. Go back to the remote invite screen and click "Invite someone to help you".
8. Click on "Save this invitation as a file"
9. In the screen that comes up, pick an area to save the file to. I think it saves to your desktop by default.
10. type in a password twice. use the word "password" without the quotes.
11. This will open a connection window. Do not close this, just minimize it for now.
12. Go online to your mail client, and send me an email at bthomas.admin@gmail.com
13. Find the invitation file on your desktop and attach it to the email. send the email to me.
14. When i get the file with the invite, i can connect to your computer and take control of it.
